i have been on this site daily, almost from its beginning, since i left the jws in 2001, but i have been more of a reader than a poster, as you can see from my post count.

i know few here know me, although i know many of you through reading your posts.

maybe it is not right to ask for support, when i generally stay quietly in the background of this forum, but i want only to speak a human misery of the deepest kind.

Let my voice be added to those who express their supreme sadness and support for you in the handling of this tragedy. Who expects that such a routine event could become so deadly. People are so clueless to the reality of the selfishness of others. So sorry for your loss.

Charge with 2nd degree and plea it out as manslaughter. Have to start high to get the lower. They'll offer it you'll see. He won't take it if his case is strong. I think they will be able to make the case that a 6'2'' young man, not a child, did more than mommy and daddy think he did. Is it racist to suspect Trayvon for being a punk despite what his doting parents say? Is it wrong to see George Z. as a man sincerely interested in protecting his neighbor's from another break in? It was a dark and stormy night and no one here or anywhere else was there but these two and some witnesses we haven't met. The problem is we do not know yet enough about the case to villify either person involved. I will hold my opinions of whether the "overzealous neighborhood watch" person or the "cherubic and racially profiled black child" really fit those profiles. The truth is likely in the middle.

last week i took a trip down to santa ana, ca.

and met robert jankowski, a name i heard very often at bethel in the late 70s.

robert was one of the voices of many watchtower drama characters in the 70s, along with tom cabeen, who he often worked with.. in addition, the watchtower was allowed a slot on local radio stations every sunday (allowed by law free of charge to churches then) , which he provided to the radio stations in cassette form in advance.

I tried to listen to this but it seemed Randy had to pull anything out of him. He'd ask a question and then when there was no compelling answer began relating a story of his own. I didnt' make it to the end, did it get better? By the way Randy, I have all those radio dramas on cassette and have at least 19 of them converted to mp3. Want them? Let me know and we'll find some way to get them to you. I just checked and they are no more than 12 megs and should email fine. Let me know.

after reading much on this scandal, we know that many if not all jws will not go out of there way to read up on this info.

does anyone know what the rumor in the congregations are about this topic?

i'm sure alot of them are just taken back by fellow witnesses taking the society to court, bringing reproach on god's name.

I think you mean that the Society cannot remove them from their corporate offices. They can remove them as elders and therefore from the BOE. That is a religious concept and body wheras their corporate offices are elected and held till the there is a vacancy in an office if its the same as our congs bylaws.

if you've been to the meeting when the letter was read, what was jw reaction????

just curious if it was just another sign that the end is nearer or did any wake up for a second to realize the corporation is downsizing due to costs..
